About Dr. Melissa Joslin
Psychologist | PsyD. | LCSW
Many therapists who go into the helping profession have a reason for doing so. For me, it was a personal, lived experience, as I saw first-hand how mental illness impacts the lives of our closest friends and family members. Growing up with a parent who struggles with a serious mood disorder and substance use issues was very challenging, but in trying to understand the 'why', it has shaped me into the person I am today. For that I am extremely grateful.

I recognize just how difficult life can be. You may be feeling stuck, depressed, or overwhelmed, with no hope in sight. You may be experiencing depression or anxiety, at a loss for where to turn for help. I am pleased to tell you that there is hope on the other side of your despair. I am passionate in the work that I do, committed to providing quality services that are specifically tailored to your unique experiences.
I have worked in the mental health field for nearly 15 years and I love what I do. My patients have described me as warm, caring, and compassionate, with genuine empathy for others. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming atmosphere for my patients to feel comfortable openly expressing themselves.

Throughout my career, I have worked with children, teens, adults, and older adults. I've specialized in crisis stabilization, geriatric care, and worked in both outpatient and inpatient psychiatric care facilities with adults who suffer from a serious mental illness. I also have a background in medical social work, treating the geriatric population, as well as in correctional/institutional therapeutic care of adults in the prison system. I have extensive training in anger management, conflict resolution, and life skills.

In utilizing a holistic approach with those I work with, my goal is to foster a supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and valued. I look forward to working together on developing the skills and tools needed to help you live a fulfilling life. I am excited to embark on this journey together!
